Your First Certificate

Follow this step-by-step guide to issue your first certificate on Sealbound.

Step 1: Choose a Template

Before creating an order, you need a certificate template. You have two options:

  1. Browse public templates — go to Explore in the sidebar and pick a template that fits your needs
  2. Create your own — use the visual template editor to design a custom certificate with your branding

Step 2: Create an Order

  1. Go to Orders in the sidebar
  2. Click Create Order
  3. Fill in the order details:
    • Name — a descriptive name for this batch (e.g., "Spring 2026 Graduates")
    • Description — optional notes about this order
    • Blockchain encoding — choose whether to encode certificates on the blockchain

Step 3: Add a Group

Within your order, create a group to organize your recipients:

  1. Click Add Group inside your order
  2. Give the group a name
  3. Select the certificate template to use for this group

Step 4: Add Recipients

Add the people who will receive certificates:

  • Manual entry — add recipients one by one with their name and email
  • CSV import — upload a spreadsheet with recipient data for bulk additions

Step 5: Review and Issue

  1. Review your order details, groups, and recipients
  2. Ensure you have enough credits for the issuance
  3. Confirm the order to begin issuing certificates

Step 6: Track Progress

Once issued, you can track the progress of your certificates:

  • View which recipients have been notified
  • See who has claimed their certificate
  • Check blockchain encoding status (if enabled)

What Happens Next?

Each recipient receives an email with a link to claim their certificate. They can:

  • View their certificate online
  • Download it
  • Connect a wallet to receive the blockchain-encoded version (if applicable)
  • Share a verification link with anyone
