Claiming a Certificate

When a certificate is issued to a recipient, they receive an email with a claim link. This guide explains the recipient's experience.

The Claim Process

  1. Recipient receives an email with a link to claim their certificate
  2. They click the link and are taken to the claim page
  3. Email verification — the recipient confirms their email address
  4. Certificate is displayed — they can view, download, and share their certificate

Wallet Connection (Optional)

If the certificate was blockchain-encoded, the recipient can optionally connect a crypto wallet to receive the on-chain version:

  1. Click Connect Wallet on the claim page
  2. Choose a supported wallet (e.g., MetaMask)
  3. Approve the connection
  4. The blockchain certificate is linked to their wallet

This step is optional — recipients can claim and use their certificate without a wallet.

Sharing and Verification

After claiming, recipients can:

  • Download their certificate as an image
  • Share a verification link that anyone can use to verify the certificate's authenticity
  • Display the certificate in their connected wallet (if blockchain-encoded)

Troubleshooting

  • Didn't receive the email? Check your spam folder. The issuing organization can resend the claim link.
  • Link expired? Contact the issuing organization to request a new claim link.
  • Wallet connection issues? Ensure your wallet is connected to the correct network.
